Local Business Owner Rachael Fix Named CBA’s Community & Member Engagement Coordinator

March 25, 2026 4:59 AM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

When Rachael Fix moved to Casselton in February of 2024, she didn’t take long to get involved.

Before opening Health Fix Chiropractic that June, she spent time meeting people around town — including working part-time as a bartender and server at the Vets Club while her practice was being built. She also referees volleyball games each fall for the Valley Officials Association at Central Cass, another way she’s connected with the community.

Now she’s taking on another role that brings those connections together.

The Casselton Business Association has named Rachael its new Community & Member Engagement Coordinator, a position designed to help strengthen communication and collaboration among local businesses. The role is designed to be hands-on and relationship-focused — someone who spends time with local business owners, helping them stay connected and engaged with the Casselton business community.

Small-Town Roots

For Rachael, the importance of community involvement in business is something she learned early.

She grew up in Bottineau, where her father owned a small business. Watching how businesses relied on strong relationships and local support left a lasting impression.

“Coming from a small town and being the daughter of a small business owner, I grew up knowing how important community and business engagement was,” Rachael said. “When the position was listed, I saw it as a great opportunity to get more involved. It’s also something I’ve done for other businesses and organizations that I truly enjoy.”

That background — along with her experience running a practice in Casselton — made her a great fit for the role.

A Business Owner’s Perspective

As the owner of Health Fix Chiropractic, Rachael understands the realities of operating a small business — balancing patient care, day-to-day operations, and community involvement.

That perspective is exactly what the Casselton Business Association hoped to bring into the role.

A big part of Rachael’s role will be simply getting out and connecting with local businesses. She’ll spend time visiting CBA members and learning about their businesses and understanding their thoughts about the CBA benefits. Her focus is making sure members get the most value from their CBA membership — whether that’s building connections with other businesses, participating in events and promotions, or finding opportunities to collaborate across the community.

A Quick Welcome to Casselton

One thing that stood out to Rachael right away after moving to Casselton was the way the community welcomed her.

“It’s cliché, but I definitely got the small-town welcome when I moved here,” she said.

In the short time she’s been here, she’s also found a few local favorites — including the pickle brats from Casselton Cold Storage and giant monster cookies at Percy’s Place.

Life Outside the Clinic

Rachael lives in Casselton with her long-term boyfriend Tanner, a chemical engineer who works in Wahpeton. Her parents are retired and still live in Bottineau, and her sister is an oncology nurse practitioner in Aberdeen.

When she isn’t seeing patients or helping coordinate community initiatives, Rachael enjoys reading, playing piano, and watching sports — though she admits free time can be limited.

Professionally, she also has a special interest in ACL and Achilles injury prevention and research focused on female athletes.

Looking Ahead

With her small-town background and experience as a local business owner, Rachael brings a perspective that fits naturally with the mission of the Casselton Business Association.

As she steps into the role, her work will help strengthen the connections that make small-town business communities thrive.

And if you see her around town — whether at a CBA event, a volleyball game, or grabbing a monster cookie — she’s someone who’s always happy to talk about ways to keep Casselton businesses connected.
